Salvation Army hopes to serve 19,000 children

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - There are only two days left for The Salvation Army's annual toy drive.

The Salvation Army, working with Massage Envy Spa®, has a 2015 goal to provide 44,000 toys to 19,000 children countywide.

Each year, the need for toys grows as many parents work several jobs to pay rent and provide food, often not having anything left for special gifts for their children.

Last year, The Salvation Army provided 35,400 toys (in addition to stocking stuffers) for 15,000 local children.

CBS News 8's Ashley Jacobs files the above video report with details on the toy drive.
