Celebrating their very first Holiday with Santa

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Christmas is still nine days away but Santa is already busy making stops in San Diego, and on Wednesday he paid a special visit to babies at UC San Diego Hospital.

Santa delivered a lot of stuffed animals to the children in the hospital and smiles to their parents.

It was only fitting that Christmas would come early for little Lily who was unexpectedly born at 26 weeks. Lily was born on October 30th, and has called UC San Diego's neonatal intensive care unit home ever since.

Since her birth, Lily has gained two pounds and is doing better every day.

"I probably would not have made it if I was anywhere else. This is a miracle hospital, definitely," said Lauren Spurgeon, Lily's mom.

Santa was able to give Lily one gift on her wish list, but she still has a couple more requests. "she wants to breath on her own. She wants to eat on her own, and she wants to come home with mommy and daddy. She wants a cuddly teddy bear," said Lily's mom.

Also born at 26-weeks is Beckett Fifield. He was born July 3rd, and weighed just 15-and-a-half ounces. Beckett's mother said she would love it if Santa would bring little Beckett strong lungs.

"He's been through a lot. He's pretty easy going, and I'm always surprised. He just takes on whatever is given to him,' said Beckett's mother, Kim Fifield.

Becket also received another present Wednesday. He was able to meet his big sister for the very first time. A moment even Santa could not top.

This is Santa's 19th year delivering presents to children at UC San Diego's neonatal intensive care unit.
