Police need help finding missing man with dementia

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Police asked for the public's help Saturday to find a 75-year-old man with dementia.

Allen Mazany was last seen at his home at 17454 Plaza Otonal at 8 p.m. Friday, according to San Diego police.

Mazany drove away from home in his wife's car, a 2009 Hyundai Azera with Texas plate number BG2Y623, according to police. The car has a sun roof and wooden crucifix hanging from the rearview mirror.

Mazany may be driving to Texas or Michigan, according to his wife. And he is suffering from the early stages of dementia. He does not have a cell phone.

He stands about 5 feet 11 inches tall, according to police. He has gray hair, brown eyes and a large scar on his left knee.

He was last seen wearing a dark, navy blue jacket with a U.S. Marine patch on the left arm. He was also wearing beige cargo shorts and white, tennis shoes.
