SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County recorded its largest daily increase since July 15 today, rising five-cents to $2.92.
The average price has increased for eight consecutive days, rising 21 cents, including 2.4 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The increases follow a stretch of eight decreases in nine days that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Feb. 11.
The average price is 20-cents more than one week ago, 15-cents higher than one month ago and 22-cents greater than one year ago.
The rising prices are the result of "refinery glitches and production issues" reducing the supply, Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager said.
