Taggers caught on camera vandalizing work truck

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A local business owner is hoping surveillance video of taggers vandalizing his mobile shop truck will help lead police to the suspects.

The incident happened in the early morning hours of Monday in the 3000 block of Hancock Street in the Midway area.

Joel Butler cannot go to job sites without his mobile truck which he has dubbed "Big Blue". He's had the truck for 12-years. On Thursday he spent part of the day washing off the graffiti from his truck because he said it would be bad for business.

A month ago, Butler installed surveillance cameras and he even put up signs warning people. That did not stop the two suspects from vandalizing "Big Blue".

One of the suspects is seen wearing what appears to be an Abraham Lincoln-like beard.

Butler said despite being in a graffiti stricken area in the Midway District, he does not want other businesses to be the next target.

A police report has been filed, but officers were off for the holiday so they could not be reached for comment.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
