SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Local leaders helped open of San Diego's largest tech start-up spaces Wednesday.

Mayor Kevin Faulconer, City Council President Sherri Lightner and Chief of Police Shelly Zimmerman were among those that helped cut the ribbon downtown at "Nest."

The 16,000-square-foot facility was built with the help of a $40,000 grant from the city in hopes of developing local tech and cyber security companies.

The space is leased to 42 members and is expected to grow to 80 companies some time next year.
