SAN DIEGO/CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - A fast-moving fire destroyed a home in Bonita Tuesday night.

The blaze broke out before 8:00 p.m. in the 3800 block of Bonita View Drive. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found flames and heavy smoke streaming from the house.

A witness soon discovered there was a dog trapped inside the home and ran inside the structure to save the pet.

No injuries were reported and a cause of the fire has not been identified.

Fire crews responded to another South Bay house fire Tuesday night on Tallow Court near Oleander Avenue in Chula Vista.

After calling 911, Derick Myers ran inside to rescue a 91-year-old grandmother. Then he grabbed a flashlight and fire extinguisher and started dousing the attic and hallway. Firefighters continued the efforts and extinguished the flames.

The electrical fire was contained to the attic and hallway.
