SAN DIEGO (CBS 8/AP) - In round 3 of the NFL draft, the Chargers selected USC C Max Tuerk in the 66th overall pick.
In round two, the Chargers selected Hunter Henry as their fourth pick. With Ladarius Green leaving San Diego for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Antonio Gates in his mid-30s, the Chargers selected the tight end from Arkansas.
Considered the top collegiate tight end in the nation, Henry at 6' 4" and 250 lbs, entered the draft as a junior at Arkansas. He recorded 51 receptions, 739 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2015 playing for the Razorbacks. He caught 116 passes for 1,661 yards and nine touchdowns in 38 career games.
In 2015 he was a Consensus All-American and a John Mackey Award recipient.
The Chargers now have six tight ends on their roster.
Thursday, the Chargers selected Ohio State DE Joey Bosa as the third pick overall in the first round.
