CHULA VISTA (CBS8) - A new law regulating RV's and how long they are parked on the street is now in effect in Chula Vista.
The new law restricts people from parking their RV's on city streets without a 24-hour permit issued by the city. The law was passed last year after Chula Vista residents complained about RV's being parked on streets for more than 72-hours. Residents have also complained that they lead to an increase in crime and trash in their neighborhoods.
RV owners can purchase daily permits for $2. Vehicles without a valid permit face citation and a minimum fine of $100.
