SAN DIEGO (CBS8) - A motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a car in Del Mar Sunday morning.
The motorcyclist was heading west on Del Mar Heights Road shortly before 11 a.m. when a car pulled out from a stop sign on southbound Boquita Drive into the motorcycle's traffic lane, according to officer Dan Lasher.
The motorcyclist hit the car's left front fender, sending him flying over the hood of the car. The rider suffered a collapsed lung, a broken wrist and a broken collarbone and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Neither driver is suspected of having been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to Lasher.
The crash is being investigated by the San Diego Police Traffic Division.
