NEW YORK (AP) — Two workers have been rescued from a scaffold that dangled about 27 stories above street level in New York City.

The Fire Department of New York says the men became trapped on the slanting scaffold around 9:50 a.m. Tuesday in lower Manhattan.

One rescuer rappelled on the side of the building with a rope.

The workers made it safely into the building through a broken window about 40 minutes later.
