Helping The Ronald McDonald House during Red Shoe Day

Thursday morning, on your way to work, keep an eye out for volunteers holding big red shoes.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – Volunteers were out in force Thursday morning to help The Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego.

It is all part of the annual Red Shoe Day fundraiser that raises money for The Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. Volunteers were joined by CBS News 8’s Carlo Cecchetto and Ashley Jacobs and AM 760 KFMB's Mike Slater.

They all held red shoes at intersections around San Diego County the morning of Thursday, June 23.

The Ronald McDonald house provides a home away from home for families of seriously injured or sick children.

Red Shoe Day raised $202,000 and counting and while the fundraising drive is over, you can still donate online by clicking here.

Some of the footage used in the above video was shot using a GoPro camera.
