SAN MARCOS (CBS 8) - Sheriff's deputies Friday sought a man suspected of groping an 8-year-old girl at a San Marcos laundromat.
According to authorities, a girl was washing her hands at a sink at a laundromat when an unidentified Hispanic male approached her and lifted her up as if to help her. As he set her down, the male inappropriately groped the girl over her clothing and then left the Laundromat.
The eight-year-old girl was at the laundromat located in the 100 block of South Rancho Santa Fe Rd. in San Marcos.
The girl later reported the incident to her mother after they left the location, according to authorities.
Initial information about the incident yielded little detail but video surveillance and follow-up interviews with the victim assisted in the investigation.
This investigation is on-going.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 30-50 years, 5'7", 160 lbs, short black / grayish hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a gray colored shirt and denim pants.
