SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 43-year-old man who was allegedly jaywalking in Ocean Beach early Saturday morning was hit by a car, according to authorities.
The collision happened shortly before 3 a.m. today in the 4400 block of Nimitz Boulevard when the man, who was not identified, was hit by a Ford Focus being driven by a 21 year-old woman, according to San Diego Police Officer Frank Cali.
The pedestrian was using a crosswalk, but was crossing the street against a red light when he was hit, Cali said. He was taken to a local hospital with major head and internal injuries.
Neither the pedestrian nor the driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, Cali said.
