Padres dedicate Chair of Honor to POW/MIA

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A touching tribute to America's military now sits at Petco Park.

On Sunday, the Padres unveiled the Chair of Honor, dedicated to the brave men and women who were taken prisoner during wartime or went missing in action.

Former POW's were on hand for the ceremony, including Navy Captain Jack Ench.

"All the freedoms that we know today, that were put in place by our founding fathers, that's what we fought for.  And to me, freedom is America," said Ench.

Since World War One, there are more than 92,000 service members who are still unaccounted for. The empty chair serves as a reminder that though they may be gone, they are not forgotten.
