SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A man is in the hospital after being rescued by lifeguards in Point Loma.
Crews were called out to "Pappy's Point" near Sunset Cliffs around 9:30 Saturday morning.
A witness told lifeguards a man was getting out of the water when he slipped, fell backward and hit his head.

The surfer was then pulled back in by a wave.
"There's a possibility he was knocked unconscious from a fall. He wasn't breathing, no pulse, but when he left he did have a pulse and he was trying to breathe; although it wasn't very efficient," Lt. Rich Stropky said.
Paramedics, San Diego Fire and lifeguards all worked together to revive the 49-year-old.
He was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
