Standoff with wanted man comes to end

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A parolee turned himself in after a two-hour standoff in the North Park neighborhood, the San Diego Police Department said.

Police were called to the 3500 block of Florida Street at 6:42 p.m. Saturday after the man, who was being served a warrant, refused to cooperate.

According to a San Diego Union Tribune report, the man slammed the door in their faces and then threatened suicide. The standoff also resulted in neighbors being evacuated, police officials said.

Police said Sunday that an emergency medical crew was called to the scene, but did not offer further details or identify the man.

Police said the man was taken into custody at 9:20 p.m., and there were no injuries during the standoff.
