SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Meet these two fast felines! These two brothers are quite a unique pair.
Typically, cheetahs have a dog that helps them train, run and keep a companionship with. However, these two cats are a coalition, meaning that they have each other to rely on. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park happens to be the only facility to have a coalition.
Aside from being a coalition, these brothers happen to be King cheetahs. This kind of cheetah has a rare recessive gene that results in having a blotchy fur coat.
You can watch this pair race during the cheetah run, which happens at the park everyday at 3:30. The cheetah is known to be the fastest animal in the world, reaching up to a speed of 72 mph.
The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is also celebrating Global Tiger Day on Friday. The number of wild tigers happens to be the lowest ever, and this special day helps raise awareness of tiger conservation.
