RANCHO SANTA FE (CNS) - A woman was seriously injured Wednesday when the vehicle she was driving went at least 50 feet over the side of a road in Rancho Santa Fe.
The crash was reported about 7:30 p.m. on Del Dios Highway at the Lake Hodges Dam, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Firefighters extracted the woman from the wreckage and took her to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. She was in serious condition, according to the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department.
The road was temporarily closed for the emergency response.
