SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Hoping to identify a hit-and-run drive, authorities Friday made public a photo and surveillance video of a silver sedan that struck three pedestrians on a busy street in Pacific Beach.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on Aug. 5, three men who were attempting to cross Garnet Avenue while eastbound traffic was stalled near Bayard Street were struck by a silver four-door Hyundai Elantra that was heading east in a westbound lane to get around the backup, according to San Diego police and Crime Stoppers.
The driver did not stop afterward and continued east on Garnet Avenue, authorities said
The victims suffered lacerations, fractures and brain injuries. All three were hospitalized, and an update on their conditions was not immediately available.
Police and Crime Stoppers asked that witnesses to the crash come forward, along with any mechanics who had repaired front-end damage on a newer silver Hyundai Elantra with stock brushed aluminum wheels.
