Injured bobcat undergoes donated surgery

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A young bobcat is recovering Saturday after being hit by a car, thanks to some Good Samaritans and a generous clinic.
CBS News 8 viewer Shawnie Williams said the bobcat was hit while crossing the street in Poway Friday.
She took it to the Pet Emergency and Specialty Center in La Mesa. Tests revealed it had a broken leg, and needed surgery.
That kind of operation can be expensive, but veterinarian Todd Cecil did it for free.

"Big credit as a huge community project here, from the rescuers to the veterinary clinic to the medical supply companies that have all made this possible." Cecil said.
The bobcat will now go to the "Fund for Animals" in Ramona.

On Friday, the group released another bobcat back into the wild, perhaps this one will be next.
