SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A possibly suicidal man surrender to police late Friday night after a day-long standoff that began after an alleged domestic dispute, prompting a standoff that began in the late morning.

Late Friday night a SWAT team was called to the 1600 block of Pentecost Way in the Oak Park section of San Diego to deal with that possibly suicidal
barricaded man, police said.

The incident began shortly before 9 a.m., when San Diego police received a report that a mother and her adult son were arguing at a residence in the 1600 block of Pentecost Way, near Euclid Avenue and state Route 94, Officer Frank Cali said.

The woman soon left, complaining of a panic attack, but her son refused to exit the home and speak with patrol personnel, he said.

Crisis counselors were called in to try to reason with the man, who made threats to kill himself. It was unclear if he had access to a gun or any other weapons.
