SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 22-year-old man walking his dog in a San Diego apartment complex was robbed of his cell phone at gunpoint, authorities said Monday.
The robbery happened at 9:40 p.m. Sunday in the 7500 block of Hazard Center Drive, said San Diego police Sgt. Michael Tansey.
The suspect emerged from the bushes and pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at the victim's face, Tansey said.
The victim handed the phone to the suspect who then demanded the access code, the sergeant said. The victim provided the code and the suspect confirmed it worked before running away.
The suspect was described as black, in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build, wearing a blue hoodie, dark jeans and black baseball cap with a red bill, Tansey said. The suspect wore a blue bandana over his face.
