SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Police Wednesday are looking for a man who was seen running from the scene of a fatal stabbing in City Heights.
The attack in the 3600 block of 42nd Street was reported shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday as a loud and violent disturbance inside an apartment, according to San Diego police.
Officers and paramedics found the victim, a 45-year-old man, suffering from 10 to 15 stab wounds on the floor of the apartment, San Diego Police Department Sgt. Michael Tansey said. He was taken to a trauma center, where he was later pronounced dead, Tansey said.
Several nearby residents saw a man wearing black shorts and believed to be between the ages of 19 and 25 and between 5 feet 2 and 5 feet 9 running away from the apartment immediately after the disturbance, said police Lt. Manny Del Toro. It was unclear what led to the assault.
Anyone with information on the stabbing was urged to call Del Toro at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
