Crews mop up after brush fire in Mission Valley

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A brush fire burned one and half acres in Mission Valley, a San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesman said Friday.

Crews remained on the scene until 2 p.m. today to make sure the blaze did not re-ignite, said Lee Swanson, who added the cause is under investigation. There were no injuries, he said.

The fire, which started shortly before 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the 3100 block of Camino del Rio, threatened the River Club Run apartments, but there were no reports of structural damage.

Transit authorities suspended trolley service near the fire, but services resumed today.
