Sheriff's Department: Mom arrested in connection to death of Alpine toddler

ALPINE (CBS 8) - Alpine resident Lillie Brown has been arrested in connection to the death of her 18 month-old daughter Leah Brown-Meza, according to detectives with the San Diego Sheriff's Department.

Brown, 21, was taken into custody at about 6:00 p.m. Monday. Brown will be booked into the Las Colinas Woman's Detention and Reentry Facility on three counts of willful cruelty to a child with great bodily injury and/or death.  She is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

Sheriff's deputies and paramedics responding to a report that a child had stopped breathing in a motor home parked on a residential property in the 300 block of Hunter Lane found the girl's body shortly after noon Tuesday, December 6, according to sheriff's officials.

Wiliey Foster, 26, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, according to sheriff's online jail records. He was being held without bail at the San Diego Central Jail.

The county Medical Examiner's Office determined Leah died from blunt force trauma. Other autopsy results remain sealed, San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Kenneth Nelson said.
