Sandbag information during San Diego storms

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8/CNS) - A series of strong winter storms expected to hit San Diego County, began drenching the region Wednesday night and continued Thursday morning. To aid residents and business owners worried about flooding-related property damage, government agencies across the San Diego area are offering free sandbags. [See below for list.]

Supplies are limited -- and since some of the pickup spots are providing sand as well as bags, others only the sacks, and others require recipients to bring their own shovels -- members of the public are advised to call in advance to make sure the service is available. 

The County Department of Public Works, the County Fire Authority and CAL FIRE have also issued an expanded list of places where residents in unincorporated areas can get free sand and/or bags to help them protect their properties from potential flooding and erosion.
Sandbags may be picked up at the following locations:
