Knock Knock, Whose Hair: Business is boomin' for kid's braid service

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - As students across the county prepare to head back to school, one 10-year-old is setting up shop.

Lauren Mills is a hair braiding expert. She’s braided her friends’ hair so well over the years that their parents would often tell her she should start a business. So that’s exactly what she did.

Mills, with the help of Mint Studios, launched her own mobile hair-braiding service called Knock Knock, Whose Hair. She charges anywhere from $5 to $15 dollars depending on the braid.

Demand has grown so high that Mills will be working a pop-up Back-to-School Braid Bar next Saturday, August 12, so that all the girls in the neighborhood can come and get styled. She’ll also be teaching how to twist some of her favorite braids.

Tickets to the event are $10 and all proceeds go in the young entrepreneur's pocket. Visit MinstStudioSD.com for more information on the event.
