SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - You definitely don't want to mess with this chick.

MMA fighter and Marine Corps veteran Liz "Girl-Rilla" Carmouche is a warrior inside and out of the octagon, and she's fighting for Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego just as hard as she fought in her most recent victory against Katlyn Chookagian in UFC 205.

Carmouche is trying to bring a crowd to the Vets on a Mission fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters' local chapter this Saturday at Mission Brewery which will feature great food, thirst-quenching beer and live music.

News 8's Heather Myers chose her words wisely as the two talked about Carmouche's passion for giving back and where it all comes from.

The MMA sensation is actually a Marine Corps veteran. She said she got into MMA after she became bored with traditional workouts and decided to try a few combat courses.

Fast forward to today, and she's 3-3 on the UFC circuit including one TKO and one unanimous decision, and owns and manages San Diego Combat Academy in Grantville.

The Vets on a Mission fundraising event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Click here for more information.
