SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Marine Corps says a transport plane lost pressure while 21,000 feet in the air during a training mission in San Diego and five people were treated for decompression sickness.
Authorities say a C-130J from the Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron was carrying 46 passengers when it lost pressure Tuesday morning after taking off from the Marine Corps air station in Miramar.
The plane returned safely to the air base.
However, the next day four Marines and a sailor from the 3rd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, based at Camp Pendleton, showed signs of decompression sickness.
They were treated at the Navy hospital in San Diego.
