SPRING VALLEY (CNS) - A man rescued by firefighters and a Sheriff's Deputy from a burning mobile home in Spring Valley was detained and being questioned Friday morning on suspicion of intentionally sparking the blaze, authorities said.

Witnesses reported the fire just before 9:45 p.m. Thursday at the mobile home park in the 10700 block of Jamacha Boulevard southwest of Rancho San Diego, San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Kotaro Murashige said.
Firefighters from the San Miguel Fire Protection District responded to the scene along with deputies from the Sheriff's Department's Rancho San Diego substation.

A handful of firefighters and at least one deputy reportedly went into the home to rescue a man who was still inside. The man was later taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

That same man was later under investigation for possible arson for allegedly intentionally starting the fire, Murashige said.
Investigators from the Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit were sent to the scene, and an investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing.
