SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - From archery to wrestling, the California State Games are just about to kick off in San Diego.
The games model themselves after the Olympics and will have everything from Opening Ceremonies with an athlete parade and a torch lightning ceremony to medals for event winners.
Organizers of the games say that 10,000 youth and amateur athletes will compete in 24 different sports.
The sports include:

- Ice Hockey – Adult
- Jr. Lifeguards
- Judo
- Pickleball
- Powerlifting
- Robotics
- Rugby
- Skateboarding
- Soccer
- Softball
- Surfing
- Swimming
- Synchro Swim
- Table Tennis
- Track & Field
- Water Polo
- Weightlifting
- Wrestling
