SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) — For days, people across the nation have been speaking out against Judge Brett Kavanaugh and just a day after the Senate confirmed his nomination to the Supreme Court some San Diegans made their voices heard.

Upset with the confirmation of Kavanaugh, protesters took their anger to the streets of downtown San Diego on Sunday.

The rally came one day after the Senate voted 50 to 48 approving Kavanaugh's seat on the Supreme Court.

The confirmation capped off a bitter partisan fight over sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh from when he was in high school and college.

Through her lawyers, Christine Blasey Ford - the first of Kavanaugh's accusers, said despite the outcome she is still glad she came forward and was able to give a voice to other sexual assault survivors.

Many of Kavanaugh's critics have vowed to continue fighting his confirmation; with some lawmakers talking impeachment over claims Kavanaugh lied to the Senate Judiciary Committee about the sexual assault allegations and issues related to his time working under George W. Bush.

But pursuing that would require Democrats to win control of one or both houses of Congress in November.
