Ready to be Adopted: Hurricane Michael dogs arrive in San Diego

Nearly 100 dogs from shelters in Florida are looking for a loving home here in San Diego.

SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) – Ninety-three dogs from shelters in Florida are looking for a loving home here in San Diego.

The Humane Society has taken in the pups so Florida shelters can make room for animals impacted by Hurricane Michael.

Kelli Schry is the San Diego Humane Society's spokeswoman.She said most of the dogs "are mostly medium and large size dogs. Labs and Pit bulls - a lot of hound mixes. We are so happy when we get a call or request to help. Especially under such tragic circumstances." 

News 8’s Kelly Hessedal reports from the Humane Society in the Morena area where the dogs began exploring their new surroundings, Thursday.
