SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - British fashion designer Zandra Rhodes is putting on her finest for the 19th Annual Zandra Rhodes Fashion Show and three-course luncheon at The Westgate Hotel on Tuesday, October 30 at 11:30 a.m.
Zandra will be exclusively showcasing her latest collection, “The Party Collection”, for the very first time in San Diego in the hotel’s Versailles Ballroom.
The list of fashion icons for whom Zandra has designed for includes Diana, Princess of Wales, Jackie Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, and even Rock ’N Roll legend Freddie Mercury of Queen.
U.K.-born Zandra currently divides her time between England and Del Mar. She's rocked bright pink hair for decades and regularly gets it touched up in Solana Beach.
“I’ve had pink hair since 1980, it’s a happy color and I like pink.
"I dyed it brown once, and it only lasted about a week because after I went to a party and when I was introduced people were so embarrassed at not recognizing me that I was even more embarrassed at their reactions.” Zandra said. “I went back to pink immediately. I don’t want to be gray; pink is my signature — we don’t have to be gray.”
