SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) — It's been nearly a year since we first introduced you to two brothers in need of a forever home.

In this Adopt 8, our Marcella Lee catches up with the boys, who are still waiting to find a place to call home.

When we first met these brothers in 2017, they were living with a stable foster family and making great strides.

Ja'kari, once non-verbal and considered severely disabled, was thriving at soccer and at school where he'd risen to the top of his class and was grouped with high achievers.

Brother Aziyah's affinity for dinosaurs was incredibly impressive.

Now, one year later, many things are the same for these boys.

Aziyah, sporting a T-Rex on his shirt, gave us his best dinosaur impression, still full of passion for the prehistoric.

And Ja'kari is at the top of his game with his soccer skills.

Unfortunately, though, one thing that has changed is the boys' living situation. Their former foster parents - while still a part of the boys' lives - are more like grandparent figures and so the brothers were recently placed into a different foster home.

Ideally, what's next for Ja'kari and Aziyah is a forever family. Ja'kari dreams of this saying he wants to have a daddy to play ball with, while Aziyah's wish list, includes animals as he asks about having a dog or cat.

The bonded brothers - just one year apart in age - already have each other but are hoping to complete their family, with a forever home.
