SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - A curious sea lion who braved traffic and made her way into Point Loma is now back home. She was found on Rosecrans and then appropriately named Rose by SeaWorld veterinarians.

The rescue boat that took “Rose” and three other animals back out into the wild returned mid-morning on Friday.

SeaWorld rescued Rose a week and a half ago when she was found wandering Rosecrans in Point Loma. Among the other animals released were a sea lion who was recovering from a shark bite and two others who were severely dehydrated when they were found. They released the animals five miles off of the coast of La Jolla.

When asked why they thought Rose was found in the middle of the street? SeaWorld said they have no idea. They observed her for over a week and took a blood sample which came back normal. They went on to say that all of her behaviors showed that she was healthy and ready to go back out into the wild.

So far this year Sea World has rescued over 900 ill, injured or stranded marine animals
