Christmas is still three weeks away, but you wouldn't know it by the sheer number of TV holiday movies.

This year, there are more than 80 new TV movies spreading holiday cheer. Lindsay Miller, PopSugar's news and culture director, told Inside Edition there's a reason for that.

"These movie are really popular because they invoke a sense of nostalgia," she said. "They make you feel good, they're really easy to watch."

The Hallmark Channel alone has a whopping 22 new Christmas-themed films this year. Lifetime has 18 new holiday movies.

Lori Loughlin stars in one of the Hallmark Channel films, "Homegrown Christmas," and showed up to the network's annual holiday party in her favorite holiday movie-watching sweatshirt.

"People love Christmas and people love to feel good," Loughlin said. "[It] gets you in the holiday spirit."

And the cheer isn't just limited to TV. Netflix has a slew of holiday movies, including "The Christmas Chronicles," starring Kurt Russell as Santa Claus. The movie has already been streamed more than 20 million times, Netflix said.

"A lot of these holiday movies are certainly guilty pleasures," added Miller.
