SAN DIEGO — SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - Are you a fan of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? If so, there is an event in Balboa Park that you must attend.
The second annual PB&J Classic will be in Balboa Park on Saturday, April 6. Visitors will be able to sample unique PB & Jelly sandwiches created by 15 teams of students and professional culinary chefs.
The $8 admission fee will give you a chance to sample all of the sandwiches and you will also have the opportunity to vote for your favorite sandwich. A panel of professional judges will then select the overall event winner.
If you want to enter the challenge it isn’t too late. All culinary arts schools, professional chefs, military cooks and local restaurants are able to participate. The cost to enter a team of up to six members is only $25.

Contest Rules
- Teams can have up to six members. The $25 team registration fee covers your team’s entry fee but does not include any voting markers.
- PB&J sandwiches must be prepared on site. Teams will be provided their pre-assigned flavor of jam/jelly, peanut butter and loaves of bread.
- New for 2019: All Competing teams are required to have a current San Diego County Health Department Permit to enter
