Tough Times Force Some Retirees Back To Work

Posted: Updated:
The stock market meltdown is having a big impact on some seniors trying to enjoy their golden years.

Many say the uneasy times are making it hard to make ends meet, and some seniors say they've been forced to go back to work.

One woman says her husband retired a few years ago, and now she's worried about what will happen with food and medicine prices on the rise.

"We just got a statement on our stocks, and you see them just plummet, and it's scary. And then we have a check coming from Wachovia, and then we hear Wachovia went down," Buffalo resident Charlene Faleski said.

Financial advisors say people planning to retire now should not have a problem, as long as they have diverse investments. They also expect the financial crisis to turn back around within five years.
