More Baby Boomers In Deadly Motorcycle Crashes

Posted: Updated:
More baby boomers are buying motorcycles, leading to more deadly crashes.

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration says buying bikes became a fad among that age group when the price of gas skyrocketed earlier this year.

They say the number of people killed in motorcycle crashes in the U.S. rose from about 2,100 to 5,100 in the last 10 years.

Experts say boomers caught up in the motorcycle fad are also less likely to take safety classes or wear a helmet.
