La Mesa resident Ann Joan Baxter was westbound in the 700 block of Nautilus Street around 2:30 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, her sedan veered off the street, onto the sidewalk and then struck a palm tree and a concrete wall, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
The gold Ford Taurus then veered back across the street and struck a small fence surrounding a house in the 700 block of Nautilus Street.
