Contract Change at Old Town State Park May Put 100+ Out of Work

Posted: Updated:
More than 100 employees at Old Town State Park say they could soon be out of a job.

Nearly 130 restaurant workers have received letters from the current operator, Delaware North, stating they would be fired in March when the company brings in a subcontractor to take over their state lease to operate concessions at Old Town.

On Saturday the workers union marched through Old Town in protest.

The new company has not said whether it plans to keep any of the current workers.

These employees are not protected by the executive order President Obama signed Friday, which requires federal contractors to offer jobs to current workers when contracts change.
