San Diego County Suing State To Release Millions In Funding

Posted: Updated:

The state budget battle is now threatening San Diego's foster kids and seniors. That's because Sacramento is withholding state funds from San Diego while the state budget remains in limbo.

Starting Friday, San Diego County will not receive the $12 million a month that goes to $78,000 residents. The money is supposed to help those in need.

"One of the state's schemes is a plan to put off some 100 million in aide payments to foster families disadvantaged children and their struggling parents," said the Chairwoman of the County Board of Supervisors, Dianne Jacob.

Jacob and Supervisor Pam Slater-Price are heading to Sacramento. They are going to sue the State Controllers office to get the money flowing again.
