4 Firefighters Win Harassment Suit Over Gay Pride Parade

Posted: Updated:

A group of firefighters will receive more than $34,000 in damages, after suing San Diego for taking part in the Gay Pride parade.

Tuesday, jurors announced they agreed with the four firefighters. They filed a lawsuit against the city, claiming they were sexually harassed after being ordered to participate in the 2007 event.

They say they were subjected to cat calls while riding a fire engine along the parade route.

The case went to trial before, but ended in a deadlock.

The city says it plans to appeal the decision.
