Family Organizes Search Effort for Missing Escondido Teen

Posted: Updated:
A candlelight vigil was held Friday evening for a missing girl whose family believe was abducted.

The vigil was held in front of Escondido High School, the last place where Amber Dubois, 14, was seen.

Dubois has been missing for a week. Family members have hired a private detective to help with the search. Bill Garcia has been involved in several high-profile missing persons cases, including the search for Danielle Van Dam.

Dubois' family is organizing a search effort Saturday. A command post will be set up at the Calvin Christian Church at the corner of Broadway and Vista avenues in Escondido. The search was scheduled to begin a 6 a.m. and continue throughout the day.

Anyone with information about Dubois' whereabouts is asked to call Escondido police.
