Ashley Jacobs is a feature reporter for KFMB-TV in San Diego, California.

"Work hard and be kind...words I try to live by every day."

Ashley Jacobs is the lifestyle and entertainment reporter for CBS News 8 and The CW San Diego; in addition to covering the best activities for families to enjoy, sharing DIY hacks and all-things entertainment, Ashley frequently loses her keys, can't remember what day of the week it is and considers boiling water for mac and cheese "cooking," In short, she's a busy working mom blessed to have happy, healthy children.

A native of Northwestern Ohio, Ashley graduated from Ohio University's Scripps School of Journalism with a major in broadcast journalism and minor in political science.

She landed her first reporting job at WTVG 13 ABC in Toledo, Ohio. Thriving in the fast-paced world of broadcast news, she moved Savannah, Georgia, as a military correspondent and weekend anchor. From there she moved to Wilmington, North Carolina and enjoyed her role as a morning news anchor.

Her enterprising style garnered plumb assignments including covering President Barack Obama's visit to Savannah, Georgia, embedding with U.S soldiers during intense training prior to deployments and even putting around the greens with golfer Tom Watson. But, Ashley hopped coasts when FOX 5 San Diego offered her a reporting job prior to joining the CBS News 8 This Morning team.

"I'm truly living the dream and love waking up with San Diegans every morning to share stories that matter to them."

While her career has taken her to places she's never imagined, from Air Force One to riding in a jet with the Breitling Jet Team, Ashley says her most important job is being a mom. She prides herself on placing her family first while still thriving in a professional world she loves.

Ashley enjoys hiking, running and exploring all SoCal has to offer.

"I love meeting new people, if you see me around, say hello!"
