Tijuana police on Thursday launched an investigation after a lion cub was found in a box at a mail delivery center.
The Mexican National Guard rescued the cub which originated in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. According to Mexican authorities, a canine alerted them to the box in which the lion cub was in.
The cub was taken to a zoo in Ensenada while authorities conduct their investigation.
