SeaWorld's helpless sea otter pup growing into Little Miss Independent

Keepers who hand-raised her are thrilled

SAN DIEGO — Cinder the orphaned sea otter rescued in Alaska has hit some milestones. Just 5 pounds when she arrived in September, Cinder now tips the scales at 20.  She has shed her pup coat and now has grownup fur.  She's eating solid foods including clam, squid and shrimp, which she peels herself.   She's also now swimming in the big pool and can dive all the way 10 feet to the bottom.

It won't be long now until she is introduced to SeaWorld's four other resident female otters.
