Carlsbad's hero principal saves little girl's life

The mission of a parent who lost a child to sudden cardiac arrest to get defibrillators in schools paid off this week.

CARLSBAD (CBS 8) - The mission of a parent who lost a child to sudden cardiac arrest to get defibrillators in schools paid off this week.

Back in 2003, Carlsbad Unified was the first district in the state to have the machines in schools. On Tuesday, one was used to save a student at Hope Elementary, when the school principal jumped in with staff to help save an 11-year-old's life.
